Some value studies from this morning. When I got to drawing class it was crowded and decided since it was such a beautiful day to just paint outside. I ultramarine and brown matter to make a grey but found it wouldn’t mix on the paper, just became very granulated, looks a little strange, the other is just paynes grey
Nice drawing, nice value studies. Brown madder not playing well with Ultramarine? Too much grand-ewe-lay-shun? How about some W&N Burnt Sienna with some W&N French Ultramarine? They make for a warm gray and seem to get along fine, he said sheep-less-ly. Your Payne’s Gray looks like a Schmincke Horadam Payne’s Gray Blue, a purer blue than any other brands, really nice.
